Hi! I'm Jeannie Lit, founder and inventor of SmudgeGuard®. I am left-handed, and so is my son.

When my son was younger, he would come home from school with graphite smudges along the side of his left hand from writing and drawing. I remembered having the exact same problem when I was in school and so I searched for a product that could solve this issue for him, but I couldn't find any. So I decided to create my own solution for my son and came up with a lightweight partial glove designed to protect the side of the hand while writing and drawing.

That simple idea became SmudgeGuard®, the original artist glove designed to help creators prevent unwanted smudges along the side of the hand and on their tablet, help their hand glide more smoothly without friction on surfaces, and to create with more precision and accuracy.

Since 2006, SmudgeGuard® has grown from a solution I created for my son into a trusted tool used by more than 40,000 customers worldwide who range from left-handers, traditional and digital artists, tablet users, gamers, to artists working with companies such as Disney, Cartoon Network, DreamWorks, Nickelodeon, Fox Television Animation and more.

And thanks to all my wonderful and amazing customers who have helped me spread the word about SmudgeGuard® throughout the years, our growth has largely come through word-of-mouth recommendations. And for that, I am truly blessed and grateful.

Thank you ALL for being a part of the SmudgeGuard® story. ♥️

With Much Gratitude,

Jeannie Lit

A Little Piece of SmudgeGuard® History

In 2006, shortly after I created SmudgeGuard®, my story was featured in The Sentinel in an article titled “Rubbed the wrong way, mother Invents solution” by Chris Gaetano, Staff Writer.

The article was published on November 22, 2006, and introduced readers to SmudgeGuard® and how I created the glove to solve the frustrating problem of ink and pencil smudges for left-handed writers.

It is very special to look back at this article and remember how SmudgeGuard® began—with a simple idea to help my son.
